What comes after a AA?

December 16th, 2005

So, I don’t know if I’ve posted that Lorax got 4th place in the state competition. Appomattox was ridiculous - every singly judge rated them 1, and they got 5 out of the 8 best actor awards. Grr… someone rated us 7th, and I know her son in law! Ah well, Jordan got her award, and I have my face wipe with the Paramount’s logo on it. I shall treasure it always.

You know, we got two snowdays this week, which was ridiculous, but I was going to use them to work on my backlogs of homework. Instead, I’ve spent the last two days playing Neverwinter Nights and DDR. Hem, hem. Speaking of DDR… So I’ve been playing DDR for 17.5 months, first on a standard (= hideous) pad, and then on an Ignition thick pad (= pretty darn decent). Fast forward 10 months from early July, 2004, when my Ignition begins to fail. Throughout this past year, I have watched my pad slowly turn into crap, to the point where I get E’s on songs I used to AA. Fast forward another 7 months: Christmas time. I’d considered getting a metal pad last year. I’d saved up, ordered the thing, and then decided that an iPod would be a better use of money (a very good choice, if I do say so myself). But this year I received a metal pad for my present from my family. And it arrived five hours ago. And I finally AAA’ed my first song ever. True, it was a seven footer and I played it about 10 times in a row before I finally got it, but it’s a big moment for me! Why, I remember first learning about E’s, A’s, AA’s and AAA that warm summers day last year. “Get a perfect on every step?” Even on light mode, that seemed impossible. But it’s not. Please don’t take any of this the wrong way - I know I’m coming across pompous and braggy, but I’m just really happy. Take that, Savanna!

I’m feeling nostalgic right now. But also kind of happy that I have more time to practice my stage combat scene before I have to do it with Mr. Small, and he can see how bad I am at it.

That’s fantastic!! My DDR experiences have been strange ones and all involve absolutely crap pads that we were supposed to try and play on the carpet…Fluffy, unresponsive carpet.

I’m absolutely crap at stage combat. Frankie and I have decided NOT to remind Mr. Small that we still have to go until we absolutely have to. Or never, whichever comes first.

As if there was any doubt that Michael was the most talented person in the world…

You should have another party where there can be much DDR-ing. You’re seriously awe-inducing at it.

I’m not feeling cynical/mean at the moment, can ya tell?

I hope the second part wasn’t cynical.

Which reminds me of the word cygnet, which may either mean small swan or a ring…

I forget. It may be a signet ring and a cygnet.

Who cares.
