Ota what?!
July 26th, 2005Oh no, I haven’t posted in over a week, have I? You poor, deprived souls. P.E. has taken it’s toll on me you see. Running, walking, jumping, skipping, push-uping, curling, stepping, pulling, stretching, eating, and resting (but not for long). The teachers are a lot better though, I respect them more because they don’t come off as stupid (as pretty much every P.E. teacher at CHS seemed). I’m wondering though, why is the Tae-Bo guy glistening with sweat before we’ve even started moving? But I’m half done! That’s right, I have just seven days of doom left before my life is back (for two weeks, anyway).
So, I saw Some Like It Hot at the Paramount on Sunday, and ran into two of my old teachers. I’m not sure if either of them saw me, but I was reminded of why I hate going to the downtown mall. I’m just surprised I didn’t see Mr. Evans there (he would be so proud of me, *tear*).
Ok, that was all boring, and I just wanted to get the formalities of talking about P.E. out of the way. The real news is what will occur in 24 days: Otakon 2005! Ahhh, by now you all should know my obsession with Japan (yes, in the most cliche way possible, I’m afraid). You may have also read my post about the Stargate convention in Arlington earlier this year. I never went, however, and have slightly regretted it ever since. I got another chance at convention peace when I realized that Otakon (a convention on “Eastern Asian Culture” or in other words, anime and manga) was still a month off (most of the others have already been held). Problem - it’s in Baltimore and the weekend before school. But after constant begging and a slight bribe (ok, fine, I asked), I get to go! I mean, come on, Richard Ian Cox is going to be there, how could I not go! Unfortunately, as I count down to Otakon, I will be simultaneously counting down to school, so I have mixed feelings about that.
